Sara?

What is this voice that speaks to me,

when wild wind howls and rigging strums.

The thrash and thump of waves on hull

and dark, dark nights spawn fears.

A voice from somewhere deep within;

a cautious caring voice of calm.

A voice that waken senses sapped

by lack of sleep or freezing cold.

A voice that calls from rain swept deck.

“Its time to reef.” “Its time to tack.”

When lying in a warm dark fug-

is what the body really craves.

So many times this friendly voice,

Has called for me, to go on deck;

when I would rather stay below.

Yet I will not ignore this call.

I never paused to ask the voice.

“Why, who are you who cares for me?”

I never thought to seek your name,

my guardian angle, spirit kind.

But when, at last, I asked your name,

the answer flashed, bright in my mind.

“My name Sarah, lonely man;

and I will always be with you.”

Old Dog’s Goodbye

As darkness overtakes my eyes

the pain is eased in aching joints.

I drift upon my soft, soft cloud

and dream about my younger days.

There is no crying as I go

just words of kindness and of love,

they lie beside me on the ground

to hold me close and ease my way.

A hand upon my sun warmed back.

The murmurings of a voice I love.

Jumbled thoughts that flood my mind,

fond memories that were my life.

So happily I drift away

upon my cloud of warmth and love.

The light is fading, yet I know

their love will always be with me.

To Sir Patrick Wall

We called him The Major.

The Leader of the Thirty Fifth.

Who gave his time so generously,

to a troop of Sea Scout boys.

We came there from all over.

From good homes and bad homes.

From rich homes and poor homes

his crew of buccaneers.

He gave us a place to meet.

A boat to sail and food to eat.

But most of all, like Baden Powell,

he taught us leadership.

In forty years we all have changed.

Some leaders and some “Barrow Boys.”

Some are gone and some still meet

In places the world over.

And Major Wall, what did he do?

Horizons change, he married too.

But still we were his motley crew.

The Thirty Fifth Westminster.

He served his country as M.P.

In tireless strides he walked the globe

for N.A.T.O. and Constituency.

He served old Britain well.

At last his work is recognized

by country and by Queen,

For now he is Sir Patrick Wall,

M.C. R.M. M.P.

But still to us he’s Major Wall.

Our leader in the Thirty Fifth.

Who gave so much to all of us,

His motley Buccaneers.

We thank you, Pat for all you’ve done

For us and many other men.

But most of all we want to say

God bless you Major Wall

Quijote de Vallarta

El es un caballero andante

anda con su Dulce Dulcinea.

el va por todas partes

escribiendo de la vida y del ser.

Escribe de muchas cosas

del amor y des las rosas.

Escribe de un insecto

que fornica todo el tiempo.

Yo soy Pancho Sancho;

pienso que un poco loco es el.

Aunque muchas amigos tengo

hay pocos como el.

El es un caballero andante,

merece mi admiracion.

!Valiente! ?Galante?

Si, es el !

Con su pluma desafia

la ignorancia de un ser.
