As I die,

if there is a light glowing, in that dark

I will walk towards it; feel its warmth on my face

and embrace the pure sense of summer.

Not raw, searing desert heat

or the brightness of a prairie winter’s day

but that gentle heat, the heat of friendship,

of joy, of delight, of love and being loved,

of being understood.

When you die,

turn towards that light.

I will be there for you, not just for a lifetime

but for that fleeting moment,

Eternity.
