Through the leaded lattice of my window

the lacy boughs of oak trees greet my eye.

Some times in autumn flame or winter bareness

or budding spring to green a cloudy sky

but when summers leafy velvet dresses

the tangled web of branches that I see.

I lie here gladdened by the beauty

and that such variety can be.
