As darkness overtakes my eyes

the pain is eased in aching joints.

I drift upon my soft, soft cloud

and dream about my younger days.

There is no crying as I go

just words of kindness and of love,

they lie beside me on the ground

to hold me close and ease my way.

A hand upon my sun warmed back.

The murmurings of a voice I love.

Jumbled thoughts that flood my mind,

fond memories that were my life.

So happily I drift away

upon my cloud of warmth and love.

The light is fading, yet I know

their love will always be with me.
